According to the National Cancer Institute of China, bladder cancer and prostate cancer have become two leading killers among men. With the goals of improving the diagnosis of these two cancers, the scientists from the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences have established an in vitro diagnostic system based on a few novel tumor markers of bladder cancer and prostate cancer they found, and developed therapeutics targeting these two cancers. They also actively published their research papers in the world-renowned journals, and organized top urologists to act as the bridge connecting the basic research and clinical research of urology. Meanwhile, the scientists put forward a proposal to the society so that the communities at large would every man around to take part in bladder cancer and prostate cancer screening, which is in line with the aspiration to the implement “Healthy China.”
